Hubs wanted me to make Stuffed Peppers with some Peppers we picked from the Garden.
My Mom and Grandma used to make Stuffed Peppers all the time. Looking at the recipe I thought it looked pretty easy and really pretty frugal to make. So I thought I would give it a try.........
How to make Stuffed Peppers
11 ounces ground beef (I used Sausage)
1/3 cup uncooked long grain white rice
2/3 cup water
4 green bell peppers
1-1/3 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce (I used Tomato Soup)
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon onion powder
salt and pepper to taste
3/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/3 cup uncooked long grain white rice
2/3 cup water
4 green bell peppers
1-1/3 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce (I used Tomato Soup)
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon onion powder
salt and pepper to taste
3/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Remove and discard the tops, seeds, and membranes of the bell peppers. Arrange peppers in a baking dish with the hollowed sides facing upward. (Slice the bottoms of the peppers if necessary so that they will stand upright.)

In a bowl, mix the browned beef, cooked rice, 1 can tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Spoon an equal amount of the mixture into each hollowed pepper. Mix the remaining tomato sauce and Italian seasoning in a bowl, and pour over the stuffed peppers.
Bake 1 hour in the preheated oven, basting with sauce every 15 minutes, until the peppers are tender.
I thought these were good but I am not a fan of green peppers. Next time I think I will make them with Red Peppers.
Oh........Hubs loved them!!

I haven't made stuffed peppers in a very long time! I think I just forget about them.
I personally don't care for them (I don't like bell peppers) but my husband really enjoys the dish!
Thanks for the reminder. :)
Hi Carolyn - These look really good. I make mine a little differently. I mix the raw meat, brown rice, seasoning and chopped onions all together, then I stuff the peppers, put themin my crock pot and cover with tomatoes, juice or sometimes spaghetti sauce. Around here we like them a lot. But, right now I am about peppered out!
Btw, love the new profile photo!
Mmmmm! I love stuffed peppers and those look really yummy!
