The Story of 2 Food Mills

I needed a Food Mill. So I started looking at them online. The price of a new, quality Food Mills is just plain CrAzY!

So I went to e-Bay to see what was up for grabs in the Auctions. They had Food Mills for sure and they were just like the ones my Mom and Grandma had! I had to have one!

I have been watching and bidding on Food Mills for the last couple days. I have been outbid and lost the auctions every time. So I was bound and determined to win. So I bid, placed my max bid at a competitive price. Then......just to be sure...... I bid on another one. I WILL NOT LOSE THIS TIME! Because you just know someone is gonna snipe you and win. That ain't happening this time Mister. I will win...........I bid on 2 Food Mills!

Yup....you guessed it....... I won both Auctions. I have 2 Food Mills en route to me right now! Oh the Auction frenzy of e-Bay. You gotta love it!

But aren't my Food Mills cool?!?!?!

Baby Birds

Matt is mowing the grass for the first time this year. He just called me out to see the Baby Birds he found. You will never guess where Momma Bird decided to place her nest......

Right there in the Wheelbarrow.
Can't see them? Look in the Pot...
Look a little closer.......

There they are! I counted 2 beaks but I am sure there are more. I didn't want to mess around the Nest to long. Matt said he saw Momma fly off when he came near that area with the mower. Hopefully he didn't scare her off never to return.
I can't believe Momma nested there. The Dogs are in that area all the time.
Then I saw another Nest in the corner of the yard

This one is empty................... so far.
It was nice to out in the Yard and seeing signs of Spring until......................Matt found a Snake!!
Ok.........that's enough for me.
Inside we go........ I hate Snakes!

Pledge Fabric Sweeper

                                                Pledge Fabric Sweeper for Pet Hair, 1 Unit

With 4 Dogs, We know a little something about Dog hair at the Barber House. One of the dreaded cleaning jobs is sweeping the Couch.

So imagine my delight when I saw the Pledge Fabric Sweeper for Pet Hair. Would it work? Could pet hair removal be that easy?!?!?Yes it does and Yes it can.

I LOVE this thing. It worked and worked well! It works better than our Sweeper with the Turbo Brush attachment. Picks up every little hair with just a little side to side action. I was truly amazed. I am going out to stock up on them today. I will not be without them from now on!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here is some product information for the Pledge Fabric Sweeper for Pet Hair.
Quickly and effectively removes pet hair from upholstered furniture.You love your pets but not the pet hair they leave behind. With sticky roller sheets, you can go through a lot of sheets. And vacuum cleaners are not designed to clean up messy pet hair. Fortunately, there's a fast and easy way.
Introducing Pledge™ Fabric Sweeper for Pet Hair. See how it works on upholstered furniture.
How it works:Simply slide it side to side in short strokes. Rollers rotate back and forth to lift and trap unsightly pet hair.
One Pledge™ Fabric Sweeper picks up as much pet hair as 145 sticky roller sheets.
Great for:
-Upholstered couches and chairs—so you can sit back and relax.
-Pillows and cushions—Pledge™ Fabric Sweeper is great for removing pet hair from throw pillows, couch cushions, and bed pillows.
-Car interiors—great for cleaning pet hair off upholstered car seats so you can roll down the window, without stirring up pet hair.
Directions for use:
Slide side-to-side on upholstered furniture using moderate pressure. Use short strokes of about 8-12 inches in each direction (as indicated by the arrows on the sweeper).
Fabric Sweeper is self-cleaning! As you go in one direction, one roller picks up the pet hair from the surface. When you go in the other direction, the second roller cleans off the first and pushes the pet hair inside. If pet hair builds up on the rollers, repeat the side-to-side motion a few times on a clean area of the upholstery.
I love it!!!! Works Great for us! A 4 Paws rating!
The New Truck
Our New Truck
A Dodge Ram 1500 with a Hemi and Ram Boxes.
Matt has been wanting a truck for a while. As it turns out the Tahoe was just not as utilitarian has he had hoped it would be. We traded in the Tahoe and will be turning in the Saturn when the lease is up. We will operate with 1 vehicle and see how that goes. I think it will be fine. With me working from Home, having a second car is just not as critcal as it used to be.
Matt is in LOVE with our Truck. He spends hours with it out in the Garage. He is getting it all set up the way he wants and accessorizing it with all his gadgets. Boys and their Toys!
Seriously though...... I think I am going to do a post on how he has everything set up. He is Mr. Preparedness and has all kinds of stuff in the Ram Boxes. Survival Stuff as well as roadside emergencies. It is kind of amazing the way his mind works!
Water Storage
Most sources recommend 1 gallon of water per person, PER day, for 14 days.
Store water in “FOOD GRADE” or PETE plastic containers (stay away from milk jugs- soda bottles are suitable).
Store water away from too much light or heat.
Clean, sanitize, and rinse all containers prior to use.
Do not use containers previously used to store non-food products.
Do not store water containers directly on concrete. Place on cardboard, block of wood, or other materials.
Non-chlorinated water (most municipal water is chlorinated) should be treated with bleach. Add 1/8 of a teaspoon (8 drops) of liquid household chlorine bleach (5 to 6% sodium hypochlorite) for every gallon (4 liters) of water.
Boiling is the safest way to clean water, however you can use household liquid bleach to kill microorganisms. Make sure you use regular bleach, not the scented ones.
