Busy, Busy, Busy

Matt and I are going to just a tad busy in the next few days. Of Course.....the big Garage Sale and packing it all back up for AmVets.

Then we got word that Matt's Grandma has passed away after a long illness. This is his Step Mom's Mom. So we will be picking up his Sister at the Airport tonight. She will be staying with us until Tuesday so she can attend their Grandma's Funeral. Matt wants to have a Cook Out for his Dad and Sister while they are here. The Visitation Sunday and the Funeral Monday and of course.... we are going to a Detroit Tigers game on Tuesday.

I am tired and my back is killing me now so I can only imagine what I will be like by Wednesday.

Getting ready

We are getting ready for the big Garage Sale. We are bringing all the stuff up from the basement and staging it in the Garage.

I will get up early and start the set up on Saturday morning. Matt will get home from work (have I mentioned he works the Midnight shift?) and stay up to help me for a few hours. Then I will be on my own in the afternoon. Not sure how this is going to workout as far as bathroom breaks and my daily PT but we will figure it out!!

I hope we make lots of money!!!!! Proceeds will be going into Trip to Texas Fund. We will be driving to Texas to spend Thanksgiving with his Dad this year.

Garage Sale

All our Garage Sale stuff ready to go!!!

The major purge went well yesterday. Hubs started out a little slow but by the end he was yelling "Sell it" when I held up an item! I don't know if he just got into the spirit or he just wanted to be done with the whole thing. Either way...... it's done.

Garage Sale

The Neighborhood we live in is having a Community Garage Sale in May. This is the 2nd year for it. I was amazed last year at how many people were having Garage Sales and how many people were in the Neighborhood for it. So I decided we are going to have a Garage Sale!!! I have been thinning out and sorting for weeks. If I don't like it anymore or don't use it anymore or don't have a place for it or it doesn't go with my current style of decorating....it's going in the Garage Sale!!

Now here is the hard part.....trying to get the Hubs to part with his belongings. He is a major pack rat and throws away NOTHING and keeps stuff "because you never know when you are going to need it". I can see the logic but believe me he is in the excess line here! Example: When his socks and T Shirts become worn and it's time for new ones, he likes to save them for rags. Great Idea... right? NO! Not when you have 3 tall kitchen FULL of old socks and T Shirts in the basement. And he never uses them for ANYTHING!

After some major talking, lecturing, harping and begging. He has agreed to go through some of his stuff and put it in the Garage Sale pile. This is major folks!!! Today we are going through his boxes of VHS tapes to see which ones he can part with. We are also going through his closets and drawers and thin out some of his clothing. We might even try to go through some of his boxes of books. (that is a last minute add on. We'll see how that goes.)
